Patton’s to Become First Steakhouse in the Heights when Speak-Easy Style Concept Opens Inside Savoir

INTIMATE SETTING ENSCONCED BEHIND THE BAR AT SAVOIR WILL BE HOME TO SOME OF THE CHOICEST CUTS OF MEAT IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Brian Doke – owner/operator of The Heights’ perennially popular New American restaurant Savoir – is making bold moves at the corner of Yale Street and 14th Street as he rolls out the neighborhood’s first-ever-steakhouse on March 11, before unveiling a new patio cocktail bar concept later this Spring directly across the street in the space formerly occupied by TAQO Mexican Kitchen.

Patton’s – a new steakhouse concept ensconced within a charming 38-seat hideaway at Savoir (1344 Yale) – will showcase prime cuts of meat and classic cocktails curated by Executive Chef Eric Johnson, whose eclectic menu inspired by French, Italian and Southern flavors has made Savoir a go-to fixture for Houston foodies.

“Houston has always had an affinity for steakhouses, and the city has no shortage of premiere steakhouses,” said Doke. “However, that doesn’t include The Heights even though the neighborhood has morphed into one of the most dynamic restaurant scenes in Houston. At Patton’s, we will offer the prime cuts of steak that Houstonians love and serve them up in a one-of-a-kind, intimate space that is wholly unique.”

The new concept within the restaurant – formerly known as SIP cocktail bar – will take guests through a well-stocked wine cellar until they happen upon the speakeasy-style entrance. Doke gave the interior at Patton’s a complete makeover to create a cozy neighborhood spot for Heights residents looking for an exclusive dining experience, complete with some of the best cuts of meat in town.

The 1,500-square-foot L-shaped chamber hidden behind the bar at Savoir will accommodate 38 guests, with an additional six seats at the bar. The design pays homage to old-world inclinations like ornate chandeliers, dark moody chairs and plush leather banquets to create the perfect ambiance for savoring prime cuts of meat and enjoying live jazz.

Patton’s comes with classic steakhouse staples like Waldorf Salad, Shrimp Cocktail, Tuna Tartare and Beef Carpaccio, along with de rigueur steak options such as Ribeye, Wagyu, Filet, Bone-in Ribeye and New York Strip carefully selected and sourced from Gable Cattle Company in Colorado, as well as Seabass for a fresh seafood option.

All of which can be enhanced with béarnaise, bordelaise, house “A1”, au poivre and chimichurri in addition to a dedicated bread program. Table-side service will be available to guests looking to add yet another level of old school sophistication to their dining experience.

On the beverage side, guests will have access to the extensive wine list at Savoir in addition to speakeasy-worthy classic cocktails exclusive to Patton’s like The Bandito, a Fig-Infused Mule and the signature Patton’s Gin & Tonic.

Patton’s will be open for dinner only on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Pre-dinner cocktails will be available during Happy Hour at Savoir Tuesday – Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Reservations strongly recommended.
