The Ann and Stephen Kaufman Jewish Book & Arts Festival Slated for November 2-15, 2025
The Ann and Stephen Kaufman Jewish Book & Arts Festival returns to the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center from November 2–15, 2025, bringing together authors, artists and audiences for two inspiring weeks of conversation, creativity and community.
Event is one of the largest Jewish book and arts festivals in the country

The Ann and Stephen Kaufman Jewish Books & Arts Festival, one of Houston’s leading cultural and literary events, returns this November. For more than 50 years, the Festival has brought prominent and emerging literary luminaries spotlighting Jewish authors and books with Jewish content to the community—and this year is no exception.
From November 2-15, the Festival will take place at the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center of Houston (the J) in the heart of Southwest Houston. The 53rd Ann and Stephen Kaufman Jewish Books & Arts Festival is chaired by Vicki Teller, with co-chair Michelle Moses.
The Festival will feature a wide variety of topics including history, culinary, sports, Israel, parenting, Jewish thought and entertainment, and is intended for a wide audience from children and teens to adults of all ages. The Jack Lapin Bookstore, an integral component of the Festival highlighting Jewish books, will be located at the J and feature books of various genres including featured author books, a robust children’s section, cookbooks and gift items.
“It’s an incredible honor to chair the Ann and Stephen Kaufman Jewish Book & Arts Festival, following in the footsteps of so many talented leaders over its 50+ year history,” shared Vicki Teller. “It is a true partnership between the J staff and our committee of dedicated laypeople. This year’s Festival will feature a range of topics and genres—something for everyone. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help lead such a meaningful, community-wide celebration.”
SPECIAL EVENTS begin November 2-15 with featured authors and children’s experiences.
These include The Macaroons Concert, Rabbi Angela Buchdahl, Local Literati with Adam Chandler, author Mitch Albom, and many, many more.
