FALL FANDANGO Brings Texas Frontier History to Life at San Jacinto Monument on Saturday, October 25

The San Jacinto Museum and Battlefield Association and Texas Historical Commission will host the second annual San Jacinto Fall Fandango on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free, family-friendly Fall Fandango offers an immersive experience of civilian life on the Texas frontier, including historical reenactments and hands-on living history activities.

“The Fall Fandango marks the start of San Jacinto’s Texas Revolution celebrations, culminating with San Jacinto Day in April,” said Amy Rogers, Executive Director, San Jacinto Museum and San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site. “We invite guests of all ages to step back in time and embrace the resilient spirit of Texas pioneers in this engaging and educational event.”

The event will take place outdoors on the grounds of the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site, near the San Jacinto Monument located at 1 Monument Circle, La Porte.

  • Experience Life on the Frontier: Dive into a variety of living history activities suitable for all ages, offering a glimpse into the 1830s.
  • Family-Friendly Saloon Games: Try your hand at some authentic historical games that are fun for the whole family.
  • Historical Cooking Flavors: Experience cooking demonstrations using traditional methods.
  • Meet Artisans and Heritage Groups: Watch as historical reenactors and artisan groups show the skills and share the stories of people from the past.
  • This year, Fall Fandango will also feature opportunities for visitors to learn how they can take part in the annual San Jacinto Day celebration. Guests are encouraged to stop by the on-site tent, where staff will share details on how community members can join in future reenactments.
  • With 2026 marking the 190th anniversary of the historic battle, it is a special moment to get involved in preserving and celebrating Texas history.
