Spring Break events will run from Sunday, March 13 through Sunday, March 20, 2022.

Main Campus, 1001 Bissonnet Street (Caroline Wiess Law and Cullen Sculpture Garden):   March 13: Islamic Arts Family Experience . The MFAH and the Islamic Arts Society team up to showcase modern and traditional Islamic arts. This interactive event invites families to make their own art, watch artists’ demonstrations, and explore the Art of the Islamic Worlds galleries.

March 14 – 18: Spring break art-making at the museum from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

  • This Spring Break, join the family fun at the MFAH! Visit the pop-up studio tents in Cullen Sculpture Garden for an opportunity to experiment with a new material, tool, or process to create your own work of art. In the Museum, explore the masterpieces in the exhibition Incomparable Impressionism from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
  • Bayou Bend Collections and Gardens, 6003 Memorial Drive: March 14 – March 18: Spring Break at Bayou Bend from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Perfect for families celebrating Spring Break, Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens features child-friendly activities in the gardens, in the historic house, and at the Lora Jean Kilroy Visitor Center. Drop in! No reservations necessary. $10 for adults, free 18 and under.

Rienzi, 1406 Kirby Drive: March 12: Studio Saturday at Rienzi from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Learn art fundamentals in the beautiful surroundings of Rienzi. Discover new techniques for drawing, sketching, and composition. The first half of the session features guided drawing exercises, and the second half is devoted to open sketching. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Supplies are provided.

March 19: Outdoor Tour at Rienzi from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Tour Rienzi’s gardens to discover the hidden works of art and learn about the history of the landscape design. Docents are on hand to guide guests of all ages in exploring the garden paths and   to answer questions about the art.
