ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, Willie Nelson, Bun B, and Other Texas Celebs Hold Benefit Auction

It’s times like this that our community matters more than ever, and the community has shown up in support of the local music industry. One of the best examples of this was the benefit auction held by Texas musicians in support of the local music industry.
Artists, celebrities, and musicians opted to donate memorabilia to help raise funds for music industry professionals that are in dire need of help. The event was co-organized by MusiCares, an organization that has been helping support music industry professionals throughout the pandemic, and took place last September 9 in Los Angeles as well as on the internet via an online auction.
Coming Together: Texas celebrities and musicians all came together to help the community out by donating items for auction. And by celebrities, these are local legends well known in their respective industries.
American music legend and Texas native, Willie Nelson also threw his support behind the auction. Nelson donated an autographed Taylor Academy 12e-N acoustic guitar. The guitar also came with an autographed photo of the country music legend as well as a matching Taylor gig bag.
Another big name that participated in the event was Billy Gibbons. It’s safe to say that Gibbons has earned his legendary status with his work with ZZ Top. His influence on guitar playing is felt to this day, as he even has a special pedal designed specifically for him in the form of The MXR Siete Santos Octavio Fuzz. Fans who really wanted to achieve that iconic ZZ Top sound were in luck as Gibbons even gave fans a chance to complete the ZZ Top sound by auctioning off a customized Les Paul Gold Top.
To add to this already impressive collection, Local icon BunB also donated his autographed 1986 Astros All-Star Game baseball cap and an orange Astros jersey. All in all, it’s a staggering collection that any music fan would be lucky to own.
