Houston Asian Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Asian Restaurant Month 2024 in May

Asian Restaurant Month presented by Sysco returns this May during what is also Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month. Two great celebrations during one month! Houston Asian Chamber of Commerce, organizer of Asian Restaurant Month, invites everyone to discover the city’s vibrant and diverse culinary scene by supporting Asian restaurants throughout the Greater Houston community.

Houston, renowned as the most diverse city in the country and hailed as the culinary capital of the South, offers a rich tapestry of cultures and flavors.

Asian Restaurant Month presented by Sysco provides an excellent opportunity for both locals and visitors to immerse themselves in the vibrant Asian culinary landscape that contributes significantly to the city’s cultural mosaic. This year’s selection offers more than 100 participating food establishments, many of them returning favorites like: Saigon Hustle, Phat Eatery, Blood Bros BBQ, and new listings such as Crawfish and Noodles, Pacha Nikkei, and MaKiin.

The Asian Chamber is again partnering with Houston First Corporation to offer the popular Asian Restaurant Month digital pass, valid May 1-31, 2024. With the free digital pass, guests can select restaurants by categories, cuisines, and locations, as well as check-in on their phones at the various food establishments to win prizes and swag.

The more participating restaurants passholders visit, the more prizes they can unlock. With generous support from the sponsors listed below, this program is provided free of charge for participating food establishments serving Asian inspired cuisine and digital pass users. To sign up for the pass, just visit www.asianrestaurantmonth.com.

Asian restaurants have had a significant impact on Houston’s diverse cuisine and its economy. According to the 2021 US Census, 44% of employers in accommodations and food services in the Greater Houston area are Asian-owned and contribute $1.43 billion in annual payroll.

Founded in June 1990, the Asian Chamber of Commerce represents Asian cultural, business and civic interests in the Greater Houston area. The Chamber promotes Asian businesses in the community, facilitates trade between Houston and Asia, and provides networking and development opportunities for its members. The Chamber is open to everyone interested in Asian culture and business; Asian heritage or business ownership is not a pre-requisite for membership. With over 40 events each year, the Asian Chamber encourages new membership and participation at all levels.
