Anosh Inc Foundation to Host 4th Annual Holiday Toy Giveaway on December 8th at Lone Star College

Houstonians are Invited to Join Mayor Sylvester Turner, Houston Police Department, Lone Star College – Houston North and Anosh Inc Foundation

Community members seeking donations may line up as early as 2pm. Parents are required to have children in their vehicles. The giveaway will begin at 4pm. Walk-ups are not permitted.

In an effort to spread holiday cheer to the Houston community in this season of giving, Mayor Sylvester Turner’s Office, the Anosh Inc Foundation, the Houston Police Department North Division, and Lone Star College – Houston North are excited to announce its 4th annual Holiday Toy Giveaway happening Friday, Dec. 8th from 4 – 7 p.m. at 4141 Victory Drive.

Families and children are invited to join in the celebration, where an array of toys and gifts for boys and girls ages 2 to 14 will be distributed at Lone Star College – Houston North.

“This initiative underscores the power of unity and community spirit as we come together to make the holiday season brighter for all,” expressed Dr. Anosh Ahmed, founder of the Anosh Inc Foundation. “We are incredibly grateful to our partners who have made it possible to spread much needed joy during the holidays, and it warms our hearts to put smiles on faces.”

In addition, McDonald’s will be giving out $20,000 worth of coupons to families.

“I thank the Anosh Inc Foundation for being generous during the holidays and throughout the year. The holiday toy giveaway will bring happiness to families who may otherwise have a tough time celebrating this year. Dr. Ahmed is doing great work in our community,” said Mayor Sylvester Turner. “I am also grateful to HPD Officer Nicole Carter for helping to organize the event and making sure that children have presents to open on one of the most special days of the year.”

The annual giveaway event was originally founded by Houston Police Department Community Officer Nicole Carter. Last year, the Anosh Inc Foundation joined the initiative and was able to give away 2,000 toys to children in low income areas like Shady Acres, where Carter grew up. Dr Ahmed recognized the massive need and promised 15,000 toys for this 4th annual event, and in February 2023 the nonprofit organization began purchasing toys and wrapping supplies. In preparation for the giveaway, more than 30 Anosh Inc Foundation team members and volunteers spent the last 11 months wrapping and organizing the high-quality gifts that range from educational toys and games to interactive items like tennis rackets, jump ropes, toy trucks, tea sets, and more.

“When I joined the north division police station, several schools were calling to see about giveaways for hundreds of kids in the area who wouldn’t have toys for Christmas,” said Officer Carter. “I wanted to do something, so I started giving away bears to students so they’d have at least one thing for Christmas. I also knew that kids were afraid of the police, afraid of the uniform, so I wanted them to see that we’re on their side. Connecting with the community and helping as best we can has bridged the gap, and helped us to show the children and adults that we’re here for them. It’s grown every year with more local businesses and organizations like the Anosh Inc Foundation who have joined to make a bigger impact. Now they know that we’re here to help them.

The 4th Annual Holiday Toy Giveaway is sponsored by the Anosh Inc Foundation, McDonald’s, Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics, Avenue Homemade, C&S Insurance Group, Carver Aldine Dance Company, DRC Emergency Services, Hiram Style, Heathy Outdoor Communities, Life Saver Emergency Room, and Nature & Eclectic Outdoors.
