Get Ready to be Wowed at Catwalks & Classrooms 2018 Benefit for Magpies & Peacocks on April 19th

Fashionistas, it’ll be a night to remember at Catwalks & Classrooms 2018  

Fresh off the London Fashion Week AW18 runway show with Re:ne(w) By René Garza For Magpies & Peacocks, the event will honor Union & Fifth founder, Christena Argo Reinhard, fashion icon and film maker, Jerri Duddlesten Moore, and Project Runway Winner Season 2, Chloe Dao.  

The event will be held Thursday, April 19 at 6-9 p.m. at Magpies & Peacocks at 908 Live Oak Street. Tickets are available at

Catwalks & Classrooms is 501(c)3 Magpies & Peacocks’ non-profit design house’s innovative sustainable fashion design competition showcase. Selected eco-design students creatively up-cycle collections from donated post-consumer and waste textiles collected by Magpies & Peacocks.

This year will showcase up-cycled fabric gowns from students attending Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) NYC, Art Institute Of Houston, Houston Community College and Glassell School, among others.

Be prepared for a night full of experiences.

See the design exhibition alongside the work of local artists from inside of the working warehouse hub; enjoy complimentary food presented by local chefs; sip complimentary custom cocktails; partake in a curated luxury raffle; shop a unique sustainable Co:lab Marketplace; and enjoy the contemporary sounds of Flash Gordon Parks.

In addition, a capsule exhibition of zero waste by ‘Re:ne(w) by René Garza For Magpies & Peacocks’ collection will be presented along with a meet and greet with honorees along with M&Ps lead designer and NYC celebrity stylist, René Garza.
