Houston Restaurants Extending Specials Honoring Veteran’s Day
Specials range from free coffee to meal discounts and more
Azumi in River Oaks District: Dine at Azumi, the modern Japanese restaurant in the luxurious River Oaks District, this Veterans Day. On Monday, November 10, Azumi will honor all active and retired veterans with a 50% discount on their check. Come for lunch to check out the Bento Box special ($25), which features miso soup, wakame salad, fried rice, two pieces of nigiri, and four pieces of maki roll. Candente in Montrose: Candente, supports veterans on Veteran’s Day and year-round with their La Bandera dish. This special combo features a combo cheese enchilada, chicken verde enchilada, black bean enfriojolada, and brisket enchilada, with $2 from every plate donated to Camp Hope – an interim housing development dedicated to supporting veterans with PTSD. Feges BBQ (2 locations): Long before Patrick Feges stepped into a kitchen, he served in the military, joining just after graduating high school and deploying to both Korea and Iraq. Just three months into his service in Iraq, his life changed forever when he was struck by a piece of shrapnel, severing his iliac artery. Left to figure out a new path in life, the Purple Heart recipient got his hands on an old Brinkmann smoker and fell in love with BBQ, eventually pursuing a culinary degree and working his way through Houston’s best kitchens. Feges BBQ is proudly veteran owned and operated. In honor of Veteran’s Day, Feges BBQ will be offering a complimentary Veteran’s Plate that includes two meats, two sides, and a drink to every service member on Sunday, November 10th from 11am to 3pm at Feges Spring Branch (8217 Long Point Rd.) and on Monday, November 11th from 11am to 2pm at Feges Greenway Plaza (3 E Greenway Plaza Suite C210).
Home Run Dugout in Katy: Join Home Run Dugout on Sunday, November 10, at 1 p.m. for their 2nd Annual Veterans Day Chili Fest with a friendly cookoff competition among local breweries—each one tasked with incorporating their own beer into their chili recipes. MAVEN Coffee + Cocktails (2 locations): Veterans who show their ID at the MAVEN at Thompson location will receive a complimentary drip coffee. Those who stop by the MAVEN at Sawyer Yards location can receive a complimentary drip coffee during breakfast and lunch hours, or opt for a complimentary small plate with a choice of fish dip, pork rillette, deviled eggs, and Caesar cups during the evening dinner service.

Whataburger: This Veterans Day, Whataburger is saying “thank you” to the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country with a free 16-ounce Hot or Iced Coffee. Starting Nov. 11, veterans and active-duty armed forces members in uniform or with a valid ID can stop by any dining room to grab their free coffee. And it doesn’t stop at Veterans Day. This free coffee offer will be available every day, all year long.
