STAGES Presents the Final Season of “DIXIE’S TUPPERWARE PARTY,” from APRIL 8-20, 2025

This April, Stages welcomes the laugh-out-loud, one person sensation Dixie’s Tupperware Party, a smash hit that has entertained
audiences across the country. Written and performed by Kris Andersson and directed by Patrick Richwood, the production returns to Houston for a limited engagement from April 8–20, 2025, on the Sterling Stage at The Gordy.

Hosted by the fast-talking, gum-chewing, red-haired Alabama spitfire Dixie Longate, this show is equal parts hilarious sales pitch, heartfelt storytelling, and a wild ride through the unexpected versatility of everyone’s favorite plastic kitchenware. After leaving her children in an Alabama trailer park, Dixie traveled across the U.S. and around the world throwing good ol’ fashioned Tupperware Parties packed with outrageous anecdotes, audience participation, and a bit of Southern charm. Dixie’s Tupperware Party promises an unforgettable night of laughter, empowerment, and, of course, fresher leftovers.

Kris Andersson started doing Tupperware parties in living rooms across LA and quickly found a niche with the delightful southern red-head he was portraying. At the urging of a friend, he developed the party into a show highlighting the themes of championing women and self-reliance. The show premiered in 2004 at the New York International Fringe Festival and then moved off-Broadway in 2007 garnering a prestigious Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Solo Performance.

After that, a national tour was launched. Now in its 17th year, Dixie’s Tupperware Party has become the longest-running off-Broadway tour in American theater history.

While Dixie has been lucky enough to perform multiple times in Houston, this marks the first time she’s bringing her signature brand of humor, food storage, and uplifting comedy to Stages. As part of the show’s final tour season before it concludes in September, this run is a special moment for both Dixie and her Houston fans.
