Miller Outdoor Theatre Brings Exciting Lineup for October
Experience Tejano legends, ’80s nostalgia, and a Halloween weekend R&B revue as they take over the Miller stage
Miller Outdoor Theatre’s 2026 Season Presented by H-E-B continues in October with a lineup with something for everyone.
October opens with the 47th Annual Festival Chicano, one of the country’s oldest free cultural events of its kind, running Thursday through Saturday, October 1 through 3, each night at 7 p.m. The three-night celebration of Chicano musical expression, from Tejano and conjunto to mariachi and orchestra, features a different headliner each evening: Latin GRAMMY winner Marcos Orozco on Thursday, October 1; five-time GRAMMY winner Little Joe y La Familia on Friday, October 2; and Latin GRAMMY and Tejano Music Award winner David Lee Garza y Los Musicales on Saturday, October 3.
On Saturday, October 10, at 7 p.m., Texas Folklife presents the 37th Annual Accordion Kings & Queens Concert, a Houston tradition since 1989, headlined this year by Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. and The Zydeco Twisters.
The celebration continues Friday, October 16, at 7:30 p.m., with Neon Nostalgic: 80’s Music Television, hosted by original MTV VJs Mark Goodman and Alan Hunter, syncing live music in real time with the original music videos.
Miller closes out October with Dancin’ in the Street… Thriller on the Hill on Friday, October 30, at 7:30 p.m. Produced by Bacement Foundation for the Arts, this special Halloween weekend edition brings live performances, live DJ sets, and a nonstop celebration of R&B classics from the Motown & More show artists and the Soundtrack Band. Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite R&B artist or in a genre-inspired costume for the occasion.
Additional October programming includes Midnight in Blue: Samba, Strings & Tango, produced by Aperio Music of the Americas, on Friday, October 9, at 7:30 p.m.; Asia To the World, produced by Dance of Asian America, on Saturday, October 17, at 7:30 p.m.; UNITE, produced by Houston Contemporary Dance Company & Vitacca Ballet, on Friday, October 23, at 7:30 p.m.; and the 3rd Annual Louisiana in Texas, featuring Big Sam’s Funky Nation, produced by Full Gallop, on Saturday, October 24, at 7:30 p.m.
