Dry January Mocktails are the Star Throughout Houston Restaurants

AFURI RAMEN: two mocktails that Afuri Ramen is offering two mocktails on their menu, and these include the Housemade Ginger Ale ($5) – ginger, lime, bitters, soda and Yuzu Limeade ($5) – yuzu, lime, soda.

Amrina in THE WOODLANDS: Don’t miss the zero-proof Cuddles on the Beach ($12) with passionfruit, coconut, orange juice and rimmed with tajin and the Barely Legal ($12) made with grapefruit juice, jasmine tea, lemon juice and rose water. 

ANDIRON GRILLE & PATIO: Guests can enjoy favorites like the Sinless Negroni with Lyre’s Italian Orange, sweet vermouth, and aromatic botanicals, the Easy Rider made with Ritual Whiskey Alternative, passion fruit, mango, lemon, vanilla, and ginger beer, and the Tropicana featuring Seedlip 94 Gin Alternative, pineapple + rhubarb shrub, and club soda. BERG HOSPITALITY GROUP with Prime 131 and Turner’s Cut: Both concepts offer Berg Hospitality Group’s four signature zero-proof cocktails: a Strawberry Rose Refresher, made Seedlip ‘Grove 42’, Monin Strawberry Rose syrup, simple syrup, and Fever Tree club soda; Spiced Pear, made with Seedlip ‘Spiced 94’, Monin Pear Syrup, organic honey, and Fever Tree Ginger Beer; a Margfreerita, made with Cut Above ‘Total Zero Proof’ Agave Blanco, Monin Mango Syrup, agave, and Fever Tree club soda; and a Kosnopolitan, made with Seedlip ‘Grove 42’, cranberry juice, and fresh lime juice. Mocktails are available at Turner’s Cut for $12 each and available at Prime 131 for $10 a piece.

EUNICE: Sip on the Cobbler’s Cruise, a refreshing blend of Cut Above 0% proof gin, strawberry and orgeat or try the Undercover Chili, featuring Cut Above 0% proof tequila, jalopeño and pineapple.

FOUR SEASONS HOTEL HOUSTON: In honour of Dry January, Beverage Manager Johnathan Jones and the Hotel’s bar teams highlight a collection of zero-proof cocktails throughout the month. Featured drinks include: Mercado Margarita and Tamarindo at Toro Toro; Spring Branch, The Burbs, Wave of 1975, and Zone 9 at Bayou & Bottle; while Bandista’s bartenders will create a bespoke “Dealer’s Choice” zero-proof cocktail upon request. Additionally, all the Hotel’s bars will feature the zero-proof Crystal Cube Libre, an original clear version of the famed Caribbean cocktail, served in a glass bottle.

GUARD AND GRACE HOUSTON:  Guard and Grace Houston will be kicking off Dry January with a thoughtfully crafted Mocktail menu of six drinks, perfect for those seeing sophisticated, alcohol-free options this January and beyond. Highlights include Tropical Tango: A vibrant, island-inspired escape; Blackberry Sparkler: A refreshing and fruity delight, and Burnt Sugar Espresso: A bold, caffeine-infused option with a twist.

HAYWIRE: Haywire is kicking off 2025 with Dry January mocktails. Mocktails include Hibiscus Haze – hibiscus, prickly pear, lemon, simple syrup, Lady Bird Tonic, Lady Bird – grapefruit, pineapple, cranberry, guava, Lady Bird Grapefruit Soda, and Mojito Refresher – lemon, pineapple, cucumber, mint, agave, ginger ale.

JUN: At popular Houston Heights destination, JŪN, the bar team swaps out  spirits for wine and sake-based alternatives creating naturally lower ABV options. They also feature several  zero-proof  cocktails showcasing unique  and complex flavors. Selections include the  Oye Morro, made with Salvadoran Horchata, coconut milk, lime, pineapple gomme syrup, and piloncillo; the Miles Away, made with passion fruit, vanilla, lime, Topo Chico, and salt; and even a Tamarind Arnold Palmer, made with cold-brewed oolong tea, lemon, and Tamarindo Jarritos.

KATAMI: Since Katami opened in late 2023, the cocktail list has impressed diners almost as much as Chef Hori’s incredible repertoire of Japanese Wagyu and incredible sushi options. For those that don’t want the booze, but still want the flavor, the bar team has a non-alcoholic botanical “spirit” that they can shake up into some of their regular menu favorites, including the  Okinawa Sizzle with passion fruit and lime, Sunomono Sour with cucumber, lime, pineapple, and sesame oil, and the Shiso Side with yuzu, shiso, and hot sesame oil. 

LE JARDINIER: Indulge in the refreshing Le Jardin, a refreshing blend of cucumber, lime, fine herbs and soda. For a tropical twist, the Yellow Boots combines spiced pineapple tisane, coconut cordial and pandan for a perfectly balanced sip. Located within the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.

LEE’S: Lee’s has a great collection of NA cocktails including the Verjus & Aperitivo Spritz and the Open Palm: a spirit-free rendition of the White Palm, a calpico and mint swizzle. The menu will include zero-proof beers such as the All Day Kolsch brewed by Best Day Brewing, based in the Bay Area and two international marks, the Weihenstephaner 0.0 Wheat Ale and Guinness Zero. There will also be a rotating selection of wines from NON, such as NON 3 with toasted cinnamon and yuzu and NON 1 with salted raspberry and chamomile. 

LYRIC MARKET: Mock-arita (non-alcoholic Margarita): Lyre’s Agave Blanco, lime juice, and agave; Lemon Kiss (non-alcoholic Lemon Drop Martini): Lyre’s Dry London, lemon juice, and simple syrup; Mock Fashioned (non-alcoholic Old Fashioned): Lyre’s American Malt, turbinado syrup, and non-alcoholic bitters, and Non-alcoholic Beer: Athletic Upside Dawn Golden and Athletic Free Wave Hazy IPA. MARGARITAVILLE LAKE RESORT LAKE CONROE | HOUSTON: Locals and guests can indulge in various mocktails, and zero-proof cocktails crafted with the same attention to flavor and quality as signature alcoholic beverages. These include No-Rita, Pineapple Cooler, Cranberry Paradise and Tropical Breeze.

THE MARIGOLD CLUB: The Marigold Club puts a spin on their booze-forward martini menu with spirit-free choices like the Secret Garden with botanical distillate and olive, the Chelsea Bloom with cranberry, orange and citrus distillate, the Somerset Spritz with agave distillate, lime and soda on ice, and lastly the Windsor Fire with allspice distillate, grapefruit and lemon. Credit Zach Horst

MILTON’S: At Milton’s, accomplished Director of Bars Máté Hartai has designed a unique cocktail menu to align with the food and style. To start your meal at Milton’s, customers are greeted with the house aperitivo, known as the Rubycello is a very light, low sugar all natural pre meal bitter meant to stimulate the palate. The drink is then proofed with either Tanqueray 10, or non proofed with an N/A botanical spirit. Another one of Hartai’s creations, the Caffe Noncoretto can also be available in a spirit free format. The drink is a combination of pistachio milk, house amaro blend, brown sugar and almond. Hartai then steams and aerates the final mixture, finally serving it hot in a frozen espresso cup tableside / barside. 

POSTINO WINECAFE: Postino WineCafé, is introducing five handcrafted zero proof cocktails to their menu for guests to enjoy at all restaurants – just in time for Dry January. The all-new cocktail lineup is sure to have something for every guest to enjoy. In addition, zero proof favorites Sparkling Rosé, Phony Negroni, and Athletic Brewing Run Wild IPA will remain on the current menu. Mocktails include The Glow-Up: fresh cucumber, cool mint, and lime, with a zingy ginger beer finish; Espresso Flirtini: spiced cane, hazelnut, and a bold espresso twist; The Mockingbird: bright pineapple, a touch of Italian orange, and toasted almond bitters; Unfashioned: smooth honey, rich bitters, and a dash of amaro, and Naked Ranch Water: crisp, clean, and refreshing line and soda.

REAL AGAVE: Try the Strawberry Rose Refresher, a delicious blend of Seedlip ‘Grove 42’, Monin strawberry rose, fresh lime and Fever Tree club soda, or the Blood Orange Margnorita, made with Ritual Zero Proof Tequila Alternative, Monin blood orange, lime and agave, topped with club soda. 

SIXTY VINES: Sip on a curated selection of refreshing mocktails and explore our non-alcoholic wines for a zero-proof way to toast the new year.  Mocktails include Oddbird Presence – 100 % organic white wine made by blending unique grape varieties from Alsace and South of France. This wine starts with fresh fruits complemented with citrus notes and spices, and continues with a layered mouthfeel where freshness, roundness and minerality kick in; Bright Side  – blood orange juice, Jack Rudy tonic syrup, lemon, Fever-Tree club soda; Garden Spritz – Seedlip Garden 108, honey, lime, mint, Fever-Tree ginger ale; Missing Thorn Sparkling Rose — By famed Winemaker Aaron Pott of Quintessa, this elegant rosé has fresh enticing bouquet of ripe boysenberries, ripe strawberries, and luscious red cherries, and Oddbird GSM – Bold and juicy non-alcoholic red wine. Jammy blackberries and dried cherries balanced by gentle acidity. Finishes with just enough tannins to bring you back for another sip. TAVOLA:  Tavola invites guests to explore its mocktail offerings this season. Savor the vibrant Palowma, a refreshing mix of Mezcal zero proof, fresh grapefruit, agave, club soda and bitters. Or try the No Mint Spritz, a beautifully balanced blend of Cut Above zero-proof gin, butterfly pea flower, mint syrup, fresh lemon juice and tonic.
