Children’s Storytime and Waltz Lessons with Cinderella and Prince Charming: Bring out the glass slippers and celebrate one of the most romantic tales ever told. Kids of all ages will have the opportunity to dance the night away with Cinderella and Prince Charming at Children’s Storytime on Thursday, February 13 from 6 – 7 pm at CityPlace at Springwoods Village. Following a reading of their story, Cinderella, the classic fairytale couple will lead a group waltz demonstration for children and their parents and pose for photos. Attendees are encouraged to dress in character for this complimentary interactive experience. Admission is free.
Valentine’s Day Market: Romance is the theme of the Valentine’s Day Market taking place from 11 am – 2 pm on Friday, February 14 on the CityPlace central green. The festivities will start with a live musical performance by Tony and Liz. Vendors scheduled to appear include Towne Flowers, Home Furnishings, and Décor selling bouquets of flowers, Iced Cupcakery with their delectable Valentine’s Day treats, Cherry Blow Dry Bar ready to help you look your best for your sweetheart, and more. In addition to the variety of vendors, Churrasco’s Food Truck will showcase its rodizio-style menu of tender and juicy Brazilian sandwiches like their Fraldinha made of tender skirt steak and Gaucho Fries, French fries covered with Brazilian sausage, homemade chipotle mayo, parmesan cheese and green onions. Pasta is the language of love. Learn how to make delicate and enticing pasta dishes with fresh made dough. Simple, delicious and versatile, this staple is always an amazing way to say I love you on any weeknight and lets you run wild with whatever else you have in the fridge. In this class, students will learn the fundamentals to rolling fresh pasta dough along with tips for cutting and storing noodles. Next, we cover the basics to making a seasonal pesto that makes the most of whatever is growing in the garden. Last, we will tackle how to prepare ravioli that are perfect for eating right away or storing in the freezer for a quick meal anytime and then enjoy everything at our romantic farm setting. Moody Gardens Under the Sea Dining Experience
Moody Gardens offers so much to love with two memorable options to celebrate for Valentine’s Day. Guests can enjoy a special evening Under the Sea at the Aquarium Pyramid, On Saturday, February 12, the Aquarium Pyramid’s Sea of Love event, features tables next to the penguins at South Atlantic Exhibit, next to the seals at the North Pacific, by the sharks at the Caribbean, tropical fish at the South Atlantic, the spectacular Jellyfish Gallery or Gulf of Mexico Rig exhibits. Dinner includes a spectacular three-course meal, bottle of champagne or wine, a rose for your sweetheart and a souvenir photo. Tables range from $250 to $350 per couple, depending on where the table of choosing is located.
Two special menus are featured for Shearn’s Seafood and Prime Steaks event. Sweethearts will enjoy cauliflower soup with black truffle Chantilly, seared foie gras, pan roasted gulf red snapper, a tempting dessert trio and more with the Valentine’s Weekend menu. There will be a three-course prefix menu on Valentine’s Day that will feature prime beef carpaccio crostini, roasted duck breast, king crab, a decadent dessert trio and more.
