Bullets Over Broadway delivers roaring Twenties in full effect at Hobby Center
It’s a rip-roaring show with Bullets Over Broadway, the five-time Tony Award winning production with Broadway at the Hobby Center until January 2, 2016.
Bullets Over Broadway, written by Woody Allen and based on the screenplay by Allen and Douglas McGrath for the 1994 film, is the story of a playwright who needs someone to back his next show. Along comes a mobster who needs some way to please his showgirl girlfriend. The start of a beautiful friendship becomes a brand new musical comedy complete with big laughs, colorful characters and the songs that made the 1920s roar.
Starring roles are played by Michael Williams as David Shayne, Emma Stratton as Helen Sinclair, Jeff Brooks as Cheech, Bradley Allan Zarr as Warner Purcell, Michael Corvino as Nick Valenti, Hannah Rose DeFlumeri as Ellen, Rick Grossman as Julian Marx, Jemma Jane as Olive Neal, and Rachel Bahler as Eden Brent.
The original production of Bullets Over Broadway premiered on Broadway last season at the St. James Theatre with performances in March 2014 with an official opening on April 10, 2014. The production received six Tony-Award® nominations including Best Book of a Musical and Best Choreography.
