El Tiempo Cantina Debuts Downtown Houston Location at POST HOUSTON
El Tiempo Cantina, Houston’s iconic Tex-Mex destination known for its world-famous fajitas and handcrafted margaritas, announced the official opening of its newest location at historic downtown POST Houston.

The Laurenzo family continues its longstanding Houston restaurant legacy with this new location, bringing the unmistakable El Tiempo warmth, flavor, and hospitality to one of the city’s most dynamic culinary and cultural hubs. Located next to 713 Music Hall, the restaurant is a go-to destination before or after shows, during Theater District visits, or while exploring POST’s diverse roster of events and activities.
POST’s El Tiempo is now open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday through Sunday and may extend hours depending upon concerts and other events around the complex. With the opening of this location, El Tiempo will now have 18 restaurants in the Houston area, including major presences in Daikin Park, NRG Stadium, George Bush Intercontinental Airport, and Shell Energy Stadium.

Spanning 7,500 square feet, the new restaurant seats 230 guests and features a full bar, as well as multiple private dining spaces perfect for celebrations and events.
“We’re thrilled to join the incredible community at POST,” said Domenic Laurenzo, Executive Chef of El Tiempo Cantina. “Our family has always believed that great Tex-Mex is about more than just the food. It’s the experience, energy, and feeling of being welcomed like family. We can’t wait to share that with our guests here.”
POST Houston is owned and operated by Lovett Commercial, a prominent Houston-based real estate development company. Lovett purchased the former Barbara Jordan Post Office site in 2015 from the U.S. government. Opened in 2021, the complex features a globally inspired food hall, multiple event venues, an immersive art museum, collaborative office spaces, and an expansive rooftop park.
“We are thrilled to welcome El Tiempo, a beloved institution celebrated for its bold flavors and vibrant dining experience, to POST Houston,” added Meredith Powell, General Manager of POST Houston. “POST is a dynamic multicultural and entertainment destination in the heart of the city, and El Tiempo is a natural addition to our diverse culinary lineup.”
