On September 15, Miller Outdoor Theatre kicks off the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month with McDonald’s Presents El Grito at Miller: A Night with Lupita Infante. The evening begins with the traditional grito ceremony, a re-creation of the 1810 “Cry of Dolores” that launched Mexico’s independence and united voices in a powerful “¡Viva México!”

Following the ceremony, audiences will enjoy a special concert with Grammy-nominated ranchera star Lupita Infante, granddaughter of the legendary Pedro Infante. She will be joined by Jacqie Rivera, the daughter of beloved singer Jenni Rivera.

The month-long celebration continues with two more free, vibrant community performances:

  • Día de la Hispanidad: Latin America in the Americas (September 27, presented by the Institute of Hispanic Culture of Houston) — A colorful performance by the DANMAR Academy of Performing Arts with folkloric dance, live music, and cultural storytelling.
  • 46th Annual Festival Chicano (October 2–4) — A long-standing Houston tradition of Chicano music and culture, featuring Tejano, conjunto, mariachi, and orchestral performances that celebrate Chicano identity through music and dance.

All performances take place at Miller Outdoor Theatre (6000 Hermann Park Drive) and are free and open to the public.
