POST HOUSTON Celebrates Annual Filipino American History Month Festival

The Filipino American History Month Festival (“FAHM”) invites Houstonians of all backgrounds to celebrate Filipino American culture, heritage, and community connection. The day-long event will highlight traditional practices alongside the contemporary creativity of today’s Filipino American community.

“From time-honored heritage traditions to the bold creative voices shaping our Filipino American community today, this festival is a full-day celebration of the artists, entrepreneurs, families, and friends who make Houston shine,” said Meredith Powell, general manager of POST Houston.

Admission is free and open to the public.

A curated open-air marketplace will highlight small businesses, artisan goods, specialty beverages, and desserts alongside a wide selection of regional Filipino cuisine. Local nonprofit and community organizations will host interactive booths across the property to share resources and celebrate the rich history and ongoing contributions of the Filipino American community in Greater Houston.

The festival aligns with the national 2026 Filipino American History Month theme established by the Filipino American National Historical Society: “Beyond the Margins: Centering Intersectional Filipino American Histories.”

“This year’s national theme challenges us to look deeper into our community’s complex, beautifully diverse narrative,” said Anthony Guevara, National Federation of Filipino American Association’s Southwest Region President and co-coordinator of this year’s FAHM event. “Bringing this celebration back to POST Houston allows us to create, share, and celebrate Filipino American culture, history, and experiences in Houston, while offering a welcoming space for all generations to connect with community.”

The day kicks off at 12 p.m. on The Docks with a culinary demonstration by Chef Nancy preparing “Rodrigo’s Roast,” a celebratory take on a beloved Filipino classic that showcases the rich, savory flavors of Adobo while offering a recipe that can be easily prepared at home and proudly shared with family and friends.

At POST Market, B-Girl Eden and District Arts launch a high-energy breaking and hip-hop showcase, featuring routines and cyphers from a collaborative group of Houston-based Filipino B-girls.

Filipino American rapper NUMP will make a special guest appearance, direct from Los Angeles. Meanwhile, competitive eaters can test their speed in a free-entry, two-round Siopao Eating Contest. On the POST Market stage, cultural performances take over with the FYP Cultural Ambassadors presenting traditional dances, music, and cultural attire.

In the afternoon, singer-songwriter Ira Perez performs a mix of original tracks and covers spanning acoustic, R&B, folk/indie, and pop. Later, long-standing troupe Tropical Rhythms takes the stage with its hula showcase and traditional Philippine folk dance. The Houston Cypress Performing Lions and Leos Club will deliver a variety showcase highlighting youth talent and community spirit. Street teams from the Houston Rockets and Houston Comets will make appearances, and representatives from the Consulate General of the Philippines will also be on hand to meet with the community.

“American Idol” Golden Ticket recipient Cameron Concepcion and his band take the stage in POST Market at 4:30 p.m. As the evening festivities begin, multitalented artist iv jeull performs, blending R&B and reggae with Filipino musical influences, and 6ix Elements will turn in a set of Filipino-inflected pop and rock tunes. DJ Seduction and Kleancutt of the Krackernuttz will be on hand for DJ sets, and Houston-based hip-hop artist Elow the Great closes out the scheduled lineup with a dynamic set blending Southern hip-hop, trap, and R&B.
