Q: Please share how this concept came to be: theRUBY was born out of my own experience as a mom, and as someone who has watched so many women navigate the overwhelming postpartum period with very little support. In Houston, there are plenty of resources for pregnancy and birth, but almost nothing for what comes after. I was inspired by international models like Korea’s postnatal retreats, and I knew women here deserved that same kind of care: a peaceful, luxurious space to heal, bond with their baby, and be cared for during one of life’s most intense transitions. So I created the place I wished I had and that I know so many others need.

Q: How do people sign up for this? Most moms reserve their stay after their 20-week ultrasound. It’s the perfect time, far enough into pregnancy that plans are taking shape, but early enough to prepare for postpartum. A deposit guarantees your spot, and we’re extremely flexible with dates because, well… babies make their own schedules. Whether it’s a vaginal birth, a planned C-section, surrogacy, adoption, or a NICU stay, we can accommodate your needs and timing. We want you to feel secure knowing that whenever you’re ready, we’ll be ready for you.

Q: Share details about the experience you hope mothers have: When a mom walks into theRUBY, I want her to feel like she can finally exhale. I want her to feel safe, nurtured, and seen. This isn’t a hospital stay, and it’s not going home to a pile of laundry and visitors asking to hold the baby this is her time.
