ARCHAEOLOGY NOW Presents “THE GREAT RESTORATION ADVENTURE” Banquet Dinner and Exhibit on June 27, 2025
EVENT WILL BE CELEBRATING THE CRAFTSMEN OF NOTRE-DAME
Archaeology Now invites the public to experience The Great Restoration Adventure, a new exhibit honoring the skilled artisans and global collaboration that resulted in the restoration of Notre-Dame de Paris after the 2019 fire. Prior to the exhibition’s June 30 opening, the organization will host its beloved Culinary Adventures, “A Renaissance Banquet” featuring an authentic Renaissance-inspired menu, curated wine pairings and an exclusive first look of the exhibit.

A Renaissance Banquet will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 27. The Honorable Valérie Baraban, the Consul Générale de France, and Phoebe Tudor will be honored. Guests will also hear about the Cathedral’s restoration updates directly from The Rebâtir Notre-Dame de Paris. The evening’s menu was built in partnership with head chef of Cotton Culinary, Wade Schindler, and will include donations from Phoenicia, Mademoiselle Louis, Common Market and other local wine and food donors. Sponsorship packages are available and individual tickets are $150.
“Notre-Dame’s global impact is immeasurable and Houstonians have been more critical to its restoration than most are aware of,” said Rebecca Lao, Executive Director of Archaeology Now. “Our Renaissance Banquet and this exhibit honors the timeless craftsmanship and commitment to preservation that saved a world treasure. We’re thrilled to share this story with the Houston community, while honoring the Consul Générale and Phoebe Tudor, in such a meaningful, multisensory way, beginning with A Renaissance Banquet.”

This exclusive event acts as the finale of Archaeology Now’s year-long Notre-Dame series and offers an exclusive first look at its new exhibit, “The Great Restoration Adventure: Celebrating the Craftsmen of Notre-Dame.”
The exhibit showcases the remarkable work of master craftsmen from France and the United States involved in the restoration through videos, tools, photography and artifacts from artisans such as Ateliers Perrault, Handshouse Studio, La Maison Louquet and the Houston Area Blacksmiths Association. The exhibition will be on display during regular library hours from Monday, June 30 through Saturday, August 2.
