About Negris LeBrum:

American fashion designer, Travis Hamilton is the visionary behind Negris LeBrum, a luxury fashion brand that blends timeless elegance with modern sophistication. With a passion for storytelling through fashion, Hamilton has built a brand representing heritage, culture, and style on an international scale.
Hamilton’s journey into fashion began on an HBCU campus, where he launched Negris LeBrum with just 12 T-shirts in 2003. What started as a grassroots movement overtime evolved into a sought-after mainstream luxury brand, known for its fresh, classic designs and use of high-quality, stylish fabrics.

Negris LeBrum gained global recognition when it was featured in Vanity Fair Italy’s August 2021 “Logo Types” editorial, alongside powerhouse brands Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci. As the only American and minority-owned brand in the spread, Negris LeBrum affirmed its place among the fashion elite.
Hamilton’s unique ability to connect culture with couture sets Negris LeBrum apart in the luxury fashion industry. His deep ties to HBCUs and the Divine 9 provide a built-in network of support, allowing the brand to resonate with a broad audience while maintaining its exclusivity and high-fashion appeal.
With a commitment to excellence and authenticity, Travis Hamilton continues to elevate Negris LeBrum as a premier luxury fashion house, blending heritage, craftsmanship, and innovation to create designs that transcend time.
MEET THE MAN BEHIND THE DESIGNS: Travis Hamilton in his own words

1. How do you feel about how you’ve grown over the years, and what do you attribute it to? Growth, for me, has been a journey of evolution—both creatively and as a brand. Over the years, Negris LeBrum has expanded its presence while staying true to its roots, which celebrate heritage, timeless style, and storytelling through fashion. I attribute this growth to perseverance, staying authentic to our message, and the support of a community that believes in our vision. Consistency and a willingness to adapt have also played key roles in our success.
2. Do you have a preferred texture you like to work with? I love working with rich, structured fabrics that carry a sense of history and elegance. Wool, silk, and jacquard are some of my favorites because they allow for classic tailoring while still offering a modern edge. Texture is incredibly important in how a garment moves and feels—it tells a story before a word is spoken.

3. Please share your aesthetic for your designs. Who are you reaching out to? Negris LeBrum is about classic sophistication with an edge. Our designs celebrate the beauty of Black heritage while embracing a universal appeal. We design for individuals who appreciate timeless fashion, quality craftsmanship, and the power of a well-constructed silhouette. Our pieces speak to those who want to make a statement—whether that be in their everyday style or on the runway of life.

4. What can people expect to see in this upcoming show? This show is going to be a celebration of history, culture, and innovation. Expect to see bold, structured pieces, rich textures, and a strong narrative woven into the collection. With the launch of the Negris LeBrum Style Museum and the Black Dandy NFT exhibit, we’re highlighting a movement—a blend of past and future, tradition and modernity. Fashion is storytelling, and this show will tell a powerful one.
5. What do you attribute your success to? Success, to me, is a combination of vision, resilience, and the people who support you. From my team to the fashion community that embraces Negris LeBrum, I am grateful for those who believe in the brand. Hard work, staying true to the message, and understanding that fashion is more than just clothing—it’s an expression, a movement—have all been key to our journey.
