Asia Society Texas: Asia Society Texas (AST) celebrates the Lunar New Year with a FREE all-ages festival! Ring in the Year of the Snake — an elegant symbol of wisdom, intuition, and transformation — with performances, arts and crafts, and food inspired by Lunar New Year traditions across Asia. The free event, to be held on Saturday, February 1, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., includes a variety of fun activities including two lion dances, a Lucky Lunar Mission, food and shopping, and ticketed music and dance performances by Huaxing Arts Group. Lion Dances (FREE) from 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Spring Festival: Splendor of Huaxing (Ticketed) are from 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
Registration is required for timed building entry (10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.; 1–4 p.m). Spring Festival: Splendor of Huaxing performances at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. are ticketed: $12 (35% discount for AST members). DOWNTOWN HOUSTON+ Lunar New Year Festival & Night Market on Saturday, February 1 at Market Square Park: Free and open to the public, the event features live lion dance performances by by Majestic Lion Dance [AM1] (12pm) and Unity Lion Dance [AM2] (5pm). Guests can explore a bustling market with live music by DJ M-Cue [AM3] and over 30 local vendors offering street food, art and handmade goods that reflect Houston’s diverse cultures, including: Ms. Moss Potter, Popsibilities, Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck, Leconi, Headstone Hot Sauce, Zophie Store, Uncommon Bees, Paper Pie, Minh Bijoux, and more.
