DOWNTOWN HOUSTON+ Kicks Off Fall Market Square Park Farmers Market on Saturday, September 7
This fall, Downtown Houston+ is proud to present the Fall Season of the Market Square Park Farmers Market. In partnership with Central City Co-Op, Houston’s oldest organic and sustainable food co-op, the market aims to spotlight local growers and makers while providing access to fresh fruits, vegetables, proteins, prepared meals, as well as household goods. Starting on September 7, this free and family-friendly event will be held every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through November 16.
To celebrate the fall season, this year’s Farmers Market will include a series of fun and educational programming, including vendor demonstrations, DIY projects, live music, and more.
On September 28, October 26, and November 16, don’t miss the Farmers Market Block Party, featuring a series of arts-and-crafts pop-up shows with Art Valet. Then, stop by the Farmers Market on October 12 to celebrate National Farmers Day. Ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday on November 16, join Downtown Houston+ for the final fall market to celebrate a season of community gatherings and fresh offerings.
“Market Square Park is a gem of an urban greenspace and we’re thrilled to bring back the farmers market for its third season,” said Kris Larson, President and CEO, Downtown Houston+. “As we continue in our mission to build a thriving Downtown, we can’t wait to connect our area residents with wonderful, locally-sourced food products amid an enjoyable, family-friendly and vibrant downtown atmosphere.”
The Market Square Park Farmers Market will accept multiple forms of payment, now including SNAP-EBT. Find more information about the Farmers Market and programming on the Downtown Houston+ website.
