Houston Restaurants and Hotels Have More Rodeo Adventures in Store for Visitors

FREE PARKING—FOOD TRUCKS & MORE!

The Ion, the anchor of the future 16-acre South Main Innovation District, will be hosting free Rodeo parking and fun weekend activation during the weekends of March 14 & 15, and 21 & 22.  RMC will open up the lot at 4203 Fannin (Houston, TX 77004) at the future innovation district on a first-come, first-served basis from 12 pm to 12 am on those weekend dates. The lot operator is not responsible for any vehicles left in the lot after midnight.

In addition, two food trucks and custom laser-engraved keychains from TXRX Labs will be on-hand from 12 pm to 3 pm on each weekend activation date to offer fun, family-friendly activations during portions of the parking lot availability.

After parking and engaging with the food trucks and TXRX Labs if desired, guests parking in the lot will be able to take the adjacent METRORail Wheeler Station to head to the Rodeo grounds.   PHOTO COURTESY OF VISIT HOUSTON

Celebrate Houston’s most anticipated events with an array of specials from March 2-20. Start the week off with 50% off Fajitas for Two, along with Happy Hour drink specials on Mondays and Tuesdays from 7am-10pm. From Wednesday through Friday, Happy Hour will be from 1:30pm to 6:30pm, including $7 margaritas and select beers for $3.

It’s getting hot in here with the Texas themed Hotel Derek’s Revolve Bar + Grill’s rodeo offering from newly appointed Executive Chef Rishi Singh, formerly of Boheme. The Blazing Saddles rodeo special includes three sizzling Ribeye Steak Tacos ($16) topped with habanero mango salsa and a generous helping of smoked refried beans on the side. Safina Mediterranean or The Naturalist, the elegant restaurant and bar located in the InterContinental Hotel – Medical Center, is serving up a Rodeo-inspired dish all day for the duration of the Rodeo March 3-22. The Pressed Pulled Pork Sandwich features roasted pulled pork, Spanish chorizo, house made pickles, marinated tomato, Gruyere cheese, topped with salsa verde. For $12, it’ll put a giddy up in your step.

Kick back with a specialty Rodeo cocktail from State of Grace. The Rodeo Milk Punch is a classic New Orleans style cocktail, made with bourbon (Jim Beam), milk/cream vanilla blend, and garnished with grated nutmeg ($11).  Available all day through March 22.

Grab your boots and ride into Chama Gaucha – it’s rodeo time in Houston! Now through March 22nd, the Brazilian Steakhouse is celebrating one of the city’s favorite traditions with specialty, rodeo-inspired cocktails.  

The rodeo-ready libations include the Bourbon Bronco, made with bourbon and bitters, topped with Guaraná (Brazilian soda), the Pineapple Pearl Snap, made with tequila, cointreau, lemon, jalapeno simple syrup, garnished with pineapple and fresh jalapeno, and Boot Scootin’ Juice, made with whiskey, champagne, simple syrup, bitters, garnished with coffee beans and a lemon twist.  The drinks will also be available at happy hour prices all day Monday and Tuesday, and from 4:30-7pm Wednesday-Friday.
