Thursday Night Concerts Presented by University of Houston-Downtown return to Discovery Green®

Discovery Green, the 12-acre park in the heart of downtown Houston, continues its Spring 2019 season with the return of Thursday Night Concerts presented by University of Houston-Downtown.

This free, family-friendly concert series showcases some of the best music of the Gulf Coast.

“We are proud to once again partner with Discovery Green for UHD Thursday Night Concerts,” said Dr. Juan Sánchez Muñoz, UHD President. “This annual series has become a summertime tradition in Houston and offers community members an opportunity to get to know our university, experience some of the best musicians in the region and have a great time.”

The series opens on May 30, 2019, with a performance by Lavelle White, the queen of Texas blues, with opener Annika Chambers.

It continues with smart pop and roots rock from Marshall Crenshaw on June 6, with opener Snit’s Dog & Pony Show; a performance by Ray Wylie Hubbard, the songwriter’s songwriter, on June 13, with opener James Steinle; Carrie Rodriguez and Laboratorio, an Americana chicana, on June 20, with opener Pat Byrne; and Americana’s favorite couple, Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis, on June 27, with opener The Crouchers.
