Texas-Size Ingenuity coming to Fall Katy Home & Garden Show on September 8-9
Renovate or Rebuild…Discover the latest home design trends, a Tiny Home Village and Vintage Market
Get your home ready for fall weather and entertaining
The Fall Katy Home & Garden Show and Vintage Market has hundreds of home design, renovation and trend-setting experts to help turn those home renovation projects into reality.
The largest home show in West Houston, takes place September 8-9, at the Merrell Center in Katy, with a showcase of the latest in remodeling, home décor, garden and landscape and DIY workshops for endless creative inspiration. A new feature of the show will be the Tiny Home Village showcasing the trends in tiny houses and a Vintage Market packed with vintage furnishings and décor.
While many area residents have thankfully moved on after Hurricane Harvey, there are still some homeowners remodeling or rebuilding.
“Hopefully that’s not the case,” stressed Robyn Cade, president of RJC Productions, which produces the annual Katy Home Show, “but for those still dealing with a rebuild there’s no better place or time to be able to visit with hundreds of experts under one roof and be able to comparison shop in one day.”
Home show attendees can meet with pros who specialize in remodeling; landscape; kitchens and baths; roofing; flooring; pools and spas; paint; water conditioning and more.
“We have some great new features this fall and are so excited to finally be showcasing our Tiny Home Village,” announced Cade. “These tiny homes are crazy cute, and we’ll have an entire village for people to browse through including: a hunting cabin; a bachelor pad; a tiny coffee shop and a full-scale tiny home ready for move-in. Infinity Tiny Houses and Caldwell Tiny Homes will be featured.
Another unique attraction of the fall show is the Vintage Market featuring Vintage Back Roads.
Local vintage artists, Arcalee Gautier and Megan Morgan will lead Chalk-Painting 101 for those interested in the DIY vintage furniture look and are too afraid to tackle it alone. A range of home décor and furniture will also be on sale along with hourly give-a-ways! Vintage and farmhouse styles focused on reclaimed wood remain popular home trends.
Know what else never goes out of style? Home organizing solutions.
With kids back in school, busy parents will find an array of organizational seminars, including: Back to School Survival: A guide to organizing morning and afternoon madness presented by Katy Home Organizer, Maureen Guzman. Chef Lawrence Fogarty, Executive Chef at Main Course Cooking School, will make mealtime a snap with Meal Prep in Minutes, including tips on developing a week’s worth of meals; shopping guide tips and tasty samples. Both seminars are presented on Saturday, September 8 with Back to School Survival featured on Sunday, as well.
If spending quality time with the family is a priority, consider that nothing brings people together like the great outdoors and backyard entertaining spaces. Whether it’s a new pool, hot tub, or an outdoor room, speak directly with these experts at the show. Find ways to spruce up the sun-drenched plants at the Brookwood Community Fall Plant Sale. And, bring the outdoors in with big, bright windows—still a hot trend, as are large rooms in the home including an expanded space to cook and entertain in the kitchen. Create even more solace with master bedroom retreats and a spa bathroom.
