“This oncology camp is a sleep away camp that will provide children and teenager who have been impacted by cancer with a true urban camp experience, is set to launch summer 2018 with an unforgettable lineup of activities for the campers.

To kick off the fundraising for the camp, Four Seasons Hotel Houston will host a charity event on the rooftop pool deck – Celebrity H-Town Chefs Against Cancer – which will be an unforgettable night of fundraising, great food and fun.

This event, featuring the talents of local celebrity chefs, will be held on Thursday, May 10 and will include entertainment, delectable bites and a silent auction.

The celebrity chefs who have joined forces to help raise money for the cause include Richard Sandoval of Toro Toro, Rafael Gonzalez of Four Seasons Hotel Houston, Alejandro Di Bello of Bayou & Bottle, Chris Shepherd of One Fifth Houston, Joe Cervantez of Brennan’s Houston, Eduardo Montesflores & Tommy Elbashary of B&B Butchers, Alex Padilla of The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation, Philippe Verpiand of Etoile, Dory Fung of Poitín, and Annie Rupani of Cacao & Cardamom.

This oncology camp, a fun-filled five days conducted in partnership with The University of Texas MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital, will give kids ages 8-15 who are living with cancer a fun and safe camp environment at no financial cost to the campers’ families.

The Hotel will convert an entire floor into a “campground” with bunk beds and camping gear, in which the campers will stay four nights under the supervision of volunteers and medical staff from MD Anderson. Campers will enjoy activities both at the hotel and at surrounding city attractions including a campfire on the pool deck, a pool party, day at the Houston Zoo, and much more.

“Cancer is something that has touched everyone in one way or another,” said General Manager Tom Segesta. “We are so honored to get the opportunity to provide these children with a safe and fun camping environment through the support of our staff, community and volunteers. These children have been through a lot, and we are grateful to be able to give back to them.”
