Silver Eagle Distributors purchases 1,500 limited edition chalices for Stella Artois “Buy A Lady A Drink” campaign with Water.org

Houston’s Silver Eagle Distributors join effort locally to help alleviate global issue

 

This year, Stella Artois reaffirmed its commitment to ending the global water crisis with a multi-year extension of its partnership with Water.org and their “Buy A Lady A Drink” campaign to help provide clean water for people in the developing world.

To get local Houston citizens involved in the cause, Silver Eagle Distributors joined the efforts by purchasing 1,500 limited-edition chalices, each purchase triggering a donation to Water.org that helps to provide five years of clean water to one person in the developing world. With this, Silver Eagle Distributors has helped to provide 4,500 years of clean water to 1,500 people in need.

Since the campaign began in January 2017, Stella Artois has sold more than 125,000 Limited-Edition Chalices through this global initiative, which will help Water.org provide access to clean water for more than 125,000 people in the developing world.

Water is a fundamental human need, yet 663 million people live without access to safe water. Water is also the foundation of Stella Artois and has helped the brand build its 600-year brewing legacy. Silver Eagle Distributors, the local distributor of Stella Artois, is proud to be a part of this campaign.

“In recognition of World Water Day in March, we purchased over 1,500 Limited-Edition Chalices – one for each employee of Silver Eagle Distributors,” said Nau. “At Silver Eagle Distributors, we believe in leading by example and are encouraging others in the community to take action by purchasing a Limited-Edition Chalice. Each small action makes a big difference and together we can all help bring awareness to the global water crisis.”

“Buy A Lady A Drink” was first launched in 2015, leveraging Stella Artois’ global footprint to raise awareness and spark consumer action to address this critical issue. This year, the brand announced a four-year commitment with Water.org to help provide 3.5 million people with long-term, sustainable access to clean water by 2020.

One in 10 people in the developing world lack access to safe water. This problem disproportionately affects women and children, who spend millions of hours a day collecting water instead of working, caring for family, or attending school.

Since the launch of the “Buy a Lady a Drink” campaign, Stella Artois has helped provide more than 800,000 people in the developing world with access to five years of clean water through the sale of more than 225,000 Limited-Edition Chalices, and by directly donating more than $3 million to Water.org.

To help demonstrate the impact, this year’s campaign will feature a short online documentary film titled “Elizabeth’s Dream at www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7J3D7_Ezzw&feature=youtu.be,” the story of a young Kenyan woman whose life was transformed when access to clean water was established in her village.

Three Ways for Local Consumers to Get Involved and Support “Buy A Lady A Drink”:

*        Purchase a Limited-Edition Chalice: This year Stella Artois released a new set of Limited-Edition Chalices designed by three influential artists from Cambodia, Brazil and Uganda. Each design reflects the artist’s experience and interpretation of the global water crisis in their country and represents one of the countries where Water.org provides support. For every Limited-Edition Chalice that is sold, Stella Artois will help Water.org provide five years of clean water for one person in the developing world. *        Visit Local Bars and Restaurants: For every pint or bottle of Stella Artois sold in area bars and restaurants, Stella Artois will help Water.org provide one month of clean water for one person in the developing world.
