Asia Society Texas’ Free Lunar New Year Festival: Asia Society Texas (AST) celebrates the Lunar New Year with a FREE all-ages festival! Ring in the Year of the Horse — a symbol of energy, freedom, and forward momentum — with performances, arts and crafts, and food inspired by Lunar New Year traditions across Asia. The free event includes a variety of fun activities including two lion dances, free access to The House of Pikachu: Art, Anime, and Pop Culture exhibition, food and shopping, and ticketed music and dance performances by Huaxing Arts Group. Admission: Free; registration is required for timed building entry (10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.; 1–4 p.m). Spring Festival: Splendor of Huaxing performances at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. are ticketed: $12 (35% discount for AST members).

Return of THE BIG SWIM 2026!: A witty, heartwarming one-act opera sure to delight families and opera lovers alike, The Big Swim is a retelling of the Jade Emperor and the Great Race — a fable that sets the order of the 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac calendar. Commissioned by Houston Grand Opera in partnership with AST, The Big Swim will be presented on February 20, 21, and 22 at AST’s Brown Foundation Performing Arts Theater.

Lunar New Year Celebrations at Houston Premium Outlets: On Saturday, February 14 and Sunday, February 15, Houston Premium Outlets will kick off the Year of the Horse with Lunar New Year Celebrations, including vibrant Lion Dance performances by the Phap Luan Buddhist Culture Center, Lunar New Year-inspired crafts for all ages, and in-store festivities hosed by its retailer, Theory Outlet. Lunar New Year festivities at The Galleria: The Galleria and Asia Society Texas invite area residents to celebrate the Year of the Horse with Lunar New Year festivities for all to enjoy! An engaging lineup of activities awaits, including arts and crafts, games, and festive performances. The free and festive fun will take place on Saturday, February 14 – Sunday, February 15 and Saturday, February 21 – Sunday, February 22.

Feb. 17: Dual Lobster Tail Special at Duck N Bao: Celebrate the Year of the Fire Horse with a festive dual lobster tail platter for $29.99, available with the purchase of an entree. Served family-style, the platter features two lobster tails, prepared salt-and-pepper style or stir-fried.
