Holey Moley Mini Golf Tees Off in Houston
An Out of This World Putt Putt Experience Opens to the Heart of Space City
Australian-based Funlab held their grand opening of Holey Moley Mini Golf Club (3839 Weslayan St #101, Houston, TX 77027), straddling Houston’s Greenway Plaza and River Oaks neighborhoods. Holey Moley brings a tidal wave of 80s and 90s nostalgia, neon vibes, and good ol’ fashioned fun with three nine-hole mini golf courses, two private karaoke rooms and a full service bar and restaurant.
Featuring an array of creatively themed holes, golfers of all ages will find themselves immersed in a world of analog entertainment. From dodging a Jaws-like shark head in ‘Gone Fishin,’’ to navigating through a larger-than-life dentist’s office complete with spit sink, Holey Molar toothpaste tube and a hole inside an open mouth, every putt is an adventure waiting to happen. Other pun-filled holes include Parber Shop, a true-to-life salon set up with reclining barber chair, black and white floor tiles, and leaning broom challenging an easy par, and Connect Fore, with oversized checker pieces scattered at the base of a giant game board. Throughout the courses are hand-painted murals done by the talented Texas artist Goodluck Buddha, and an abundance of Instagrammable moments, including a full-sized customized ‘Space Daddy’ golf cart, that will make memories that last a digital lifetime. Cheeky swag like Sex, Drugs, Rock & Hole hats, and “Let’s Talk About Socks, Baby” knee-high golf socks are available to get into true ‘tee’ spirit.
After conquering the greens, guests can swing by The Caddy Shack to refuel with delicious bites and drinks. The 104-seat bar and dining spaces also celebrate familiar flavors in an extensive Americana menu with a Texas flair. Dishes include Chopped Brisket Sandwich with fried onions, house pickles, slaw and cheddar cheese served on Texas toast, a Taco Salad with romaine lettuce, fresh tomato, black beans, Texas ground beef, cheddar, guacamole, sour cream and fire roasted salsa, and Grilled Elote Corn Ribs with cotija cheese, garlic aioli, Tajin and lime, alongside an array of pizzas like Ricotta Marherita with San Marzano sauce with charred heirloom tomatoes, almond ricotta, balsamic reduction and fresh basil, and A Lotta Meat with Prosciutto, salami, bacon lardon, pepperoni, sausage, and shaved pecorino.
The Caddyshack will offer signature drinks in cheeky vessels including a nod to bathtub gin with the Rub A Dub in the Tub with gin, aperol, lime, and peach, topped with prosecco and served in a bathtub cup adorned with rubber duckies, Pop Till You Drop with vodka, lime, watermelon, and bubbles in a ceramic unicorn, and Adios Motherfunner with vodka, gin, tequila, rum, and triple sec topped with Par Tee Punch and garnished with a Texas longhorn. Groups can dive into large format cocktails like Cadillac Disco with tequila, Grand Marnier, and lime served in a disco ball that matches the theme of the karaoke rooms, and Howdy Putt’ners with vodka, housemade sweet tea and a float of lemonade in an upside down acrylic cowboy hat.
There will also be classic, frozen, and zero-proof cocktails, and local beers including St. Arnold Lawnmower, Karbach Brewing Co.’s Love Street Kolsch and Hopadillo IPA, and Bobby Dazzler Australian Blonde Ale from Funlab’s favorite Aussie themed brewery in Houston, Platypus Brewing.
Local DJs will spin tunes that are on par with Holey Moley vibes every Friday and Saturday night from 7pm-11pm.
