Mexican Sugar, an Award Winning Restaurant, Now Open at Regent Square in Houston

Your new favorite spot for tacos, tequila, and weekend brunch has arrived. Mexican Sugar, celebrated for its modern take on traditional Mexican cuisine, officially opened at 3505 W Dallas Street in Regent Square. This two-story destination features scratch-made dishes, handcrafted cocktails, and a one-of-a-kind agave experiences in a transportive setting.

The almost 13,000-square-foot restaurant features two patios with views of Buffalo Bayou Park, offering indoor and outdoor seating on both levels. Designed to capture the essence of Mexico City, the space combines handcrafted tiles, lush textiles, and curated artwork, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The menu features standout dishes perfect for lunch or dinner, including hand-pressed tortillas made from heirloom masa, Lobster Fundido, Angus Skirt Steak, and Bone-In Pork Chop. Guests can enjoy traditional favorites like tacos, enchiladas, and fajitas, alongside specialties like Striped Bass and Barbacoa Arepas. For brunch, dishes like Cajeta French Toast, Chicken Chilaquiles, and Benedictos Rancheros bring bold flavors to the weekend.

Happy hour features handcrafted cocktails made with freshly squeezed juices, including signature margaritas like La Catrina and the Margarita Flight with Classico, Hibiscus, and Machete. The Agave Library, showcasing over 150 tequilas, mezcals, and sotols, offers guests an immersive experience with curated flights and expert recommendations. Each element of the menu reflects Mexican Sugar’s dedication to fresh, scratch-made dishes and bold flavors.

Mexican Sugar Houston will be open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Happy hour Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. This marks Mexican Sugar’s fourth location, joining Plano, Las Colinas, and Uptown Dallas.
