Furry Friends Sunday Funday at Center Stage at The Common’s New Sugar and Cloth Color Wall on September 26
Event to Benefit Northwest Assistance Ministries aniMeals on Wheels Program and is Sponsored by BMW West Houston, Oak Forest Veterinary Hospital and Gulf Coast Commercial Group, Inc.
Sunday Funday goes to the dogs (and cats) this weekend with an afternoon filled with music, a specialty pop up market, showcase of new BMW automobiles and an assortment of food trucks (Pit King BBQ, Happy Sno Lucky shaved ice and Mickey’s Cuisine) all set against the vibrant backdrop of the new Sugar & Cloth Color Wall, which debuted to the public on September 22.
Guests who make a $25 donation will each receive three tickets, which can be used for adult beverages or premium raffle items including MCM leather goods and fragrance, doggie gift baskets, martini and Bloody Mary gift baskets and an array of restaurant gift cards. Additional raffle and drink tickets will also be available for individual sale.
Longtime Houston pet champions, Bruce Padilla and Shelby Kibodeaux serve as co-chairs of the afternoon festivities benefitting the Northwest Assistance Ministries aniMeals on Wheels program and sponsored by BMW West Houston, Oak Forest Veterinary Hospital and Gulf Coast Commercial Group, Inc. DJ Jace will keep the party going, and a sampling of specialty market vendors will include Magenta Handmade Accessories (unique bracelets), Greka (handmade bags), Loving Hands Slime & Sensory Toys, Pearl Snap Craft Co. (plants and succulents potted in vintage containers), Taurii by Kalahari (artisan jewelry) and Two Tequila Sisters (one of a kind denim jackets and vests).
The event is free for children, and pets are welcome. Hours are 1-4 p.m. at The Common, located at 1102 Pinemont, a newly refurbished retail center at the axis of Garden Oaks and Oak Forest.
The event hopes to shine a spotlight on the work of Northwest Assistance Ministries while raising funds for the aniMeals on Wheels program.
Seniors receiving Meals on Wheels sometimes struggle to feed their companion animals. aniMeals on Wheels was started to make sure that our seniors get all the nutrition they need by not feeling that they have no choice but to share their food with their beloved pets. An added bonus is that, in getting pet food to them, their sweet companions are also getting food that is better for their tummies and overall health.
