THE FOMO FACTORY REOPENS WITH REFRESHED SPACE AND CHILDHOOD NOSTALGIA AT THE GALLERIA
The FOMO Factory Reopens to cure quarantine blues
The FOMO Factory, a “Super Fun Pop Up” filled with fantastical sets from iconic childhood moments, will reopen its Houston location on Friday, June 5 for a limited run inside The Galleria.
The venue closed in mid-March in response to the coronavirus. “It was a sad day for us, as I’m sure it was for most local businesses. We can’t wait to see happy and smiling faces back in our space getting some much needed quarantine relief with friends and family” says co-owner Brian Lenehan.
Since March, FOMO staff have been busy re-designing the facility to ensure that they could reopen safely. “Let’s face it, ball pits are not the safest places to be right now – so it had to go” says co-owner Mike Salvaris. The team have designed and built two new rooms: a fantastical tropical swing room and a Graduation and runway stage.
Adds Lenehan “We’re really pleased with the new rooms our local artists have come up with and think that everyone is going to love them. We have a Prom room, a birthday party room and now a graduation room. Pretty much every party you missed during quarantine you can now come celebrate here at FOMO.”
The venue is also launching packages for private bookings for Prom, Graduation and Birthday Parties.
New operating procedures
“Temperature checks, face masks and UV cleaning of phones will all be mandatory for the foreseeable future” says Salvaris.
The venue has also reduced its capacity and the amount of shared items guests can interact with. Unlike some “Pop Ups” that are nothing more than “self-service photo studios,” The FOMO FACTORY offers much more… Here new childhood dreams are made by filling your senses with “Care Bear Chairs” to caress, “Scent of Cakes” to awaken, “Music Room” to rock out, “Special Treats” to savor, “Space Room” to spin in orbit and “Beauty Everywhere” to dive into and share with all of your family and friends.
The FOMO Factory previously launched a five-month run in Austin in September 2018 with tens of thousands of visitors and notable faces including world-renown singer, Billie Eilish.
