Houston Wine Bar Reaching Out to Community with Front Porch Friday Home Picnic Initiative
Mutiny Wine Room Helps Lift Houston Community Spirits with Front Porch Friday Home Picnic Initiative
Front Porch Fridays will be an ongoing weekly event series
Conceptualized by Mutiny Wine Room, “Front Porch Fridays” is a weekly picnic series during which Houstonians are encouraged to get outside every Friday and engage with their neighbors while practicing safe social distancing guidelines.
To accompany the initiative each week, Mutiny Wine Room will debut a new “Front Porch Package” that is available for to-go purchasing at Mutiny for $28.
The package includes a special selection of meats and cheeses – accompanied by suggested wine pairings on a rotating basis as the series progresses. Guests are encouraged to purchase the suggested wine pairings, which are separate from the Front Porch Package, at a discounted rate that Mutiny will offer as part of the overall program.
All Houstonians are encouraged to partake in Front Porch Fridays, whether or not they obtain a Front Porch Package from Mutiny or create their own custom picnic bundle at home.
Long-time Heights residents, Mutiny co-owners Mark Ellenberger and Emily Trout created Front Porch Fridays in order to help foster a sense of community and togetherness during this difficult time.
As part of the campaign, Ellenberger and Trout are encouraging participants to utilize the hashtag #FrontPorchFriday when they post on Instagram.
Subsequently, Ellenberger and Trout have created a reward program to accompany each Front Porch Friday. One winner will be chosen each week, and that lucky individual will receive a free bottle of wine from Munity as a thank you for participation in the event.
Mutiny Wine Room in the Heights is located at 1124 Usener Street.
