TRAVIS SCOTT ANNOUNCES SECOND ANNUAL ASTROWORLD FESTIVAL
MUSIC FESTIVAL WILL RETURN TO NRG PARK ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 9
Texas-born, GRAMMY Award-nominated and multi-platinum hip-hop artist Travis Scott is proud to unveil initial details surrounding the second annual ASTROWORLD Festival. The music festival will be returning to NRG Park in Houston, TX on Saturday, November 9.
The six-time GRAMMY Award-nominee looks to again provide a multi-stage music festival in his hometown of Houston curated by Scott himself. While the full music lineup is yet to be revealed, Travis is confirmed as the festival’s headlining performer.
The second annual ASTROWORLD Festival will take place across the street from the former home of AstroWorld, an amusement park opened in downtown Houston in 1968. AstroWorld was originally built to complement the nearby Astrodome, the world’s first multi-purpose domed sports arena, referred to by many as the “eighth wonder of the world.” The festival seeks to again bring back the nostalgia of AstroWorld for Houston residents and travelers alike.
ABOUT ASTROWORLD Festival
ASTROWORLD Festival is returning to Houston just off the heels of Scott’s highly successful and critically acclaimed Wish You Were Here North American tour earlier this spring that included 50+ sold-out shows across the country, in addition to headlining some of Europe’s largest music festivals earlier this summer. This year’s ASTROWORLD Festival will mark Scott’s only North American performance currently announced for the second half of 2019.
Scott most recently released a new 85-minute Netflix documentary entitled “Look Mom I Can Fly”, which includes footage from the inaugural festival event last November. The film documents a two-year span in which Scott crafted and released his Grammy-nominated album “Astroworld”, traveled the globe on two headlining tours, performed at the NFL Super Bowl and the 2019 Grammy Awards, all while becoming a bonafide global superstar.
