Wine & Food Week Ready to Wow Guests with Foodie Extravaganza

Wine & Food Week celebrates 15-years on June 3 -9 with a week-long foodie extravaganza featuring celebrity guests, chefs and hundreds of wines

Hundreds of wines, scores of celebrity guests and a list of fresh culinary faces will gather in the Woodlands June 3-9, 2019 for a week-long multi-faceted extravaganza and to raise a glass to one of the best wine and food events in the region. 

FOODIE & WINE LOVER HEAVEN

Experience wine dinners, Ladies of the Vine Luncheon, seminars, casual events like Sips, Suds & Tacos and the H-E-B Wine Walk at Market Street, all culminating in the elaborate Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting & Chef Showcase where 60 chefs compete for the coveted GOYA Foods Chef of Chefs Award with a Waterford crystal trophy and $5,000 cash prize.  This is foodie heaven all the while supporting charitable organizations such as New Danville; The Woodlands Arts Council, Montgomery County Food Bank; just to name a few.  

Meet Tim Hanni, Master of Wine, author and founder of MyVinoType who is also joined by a flurry of exceptionally gifted wine experts and chefs like Master Sommelier and Houston icon, Guy Stout; Bravo TV Top Chef Contender, Ron Duprat recognized as one of the 10 African American chefs changing the food world; Two-time Superbowl Champion and owner Oceans 97, Jarvis Green, who FORBES Magazine recently featured as the real-life Forrest Gump. 

Other featured guests include the Wine Enthusiast wine maker of the year, Michael David Winery—Adam Mettler and owner, Michael Phillips along with the Oregon Wine Person of the Year—Biodynamic farming expert Rudy Marchesi of Montinore Estates.

Featured Event Line-Up

Kick the week off with It’s a Guy Thing Tuesday June 4 from 7 – 9 p.m. at The Woodlands Country Club, Palmer Course.

Meet a giant in the wine industry, Houston icon and Master Sommelier, and Wine Wizard 2018 Guy Stout, one of only 215 Master Sommeliers (MS) in the world and one of the first in America along with Jarvis Green, former NFL superstar, two-time Superbowl Champion and owner of Oceans 97, whose shrimp and shrimp products. Master of wine and founder of MyVinoType.com, Tim Hanni will also be on hand.  Big bold wines, craft beer to satisfy every taste and delicious man grub from featured restaurants like Kirby’s, the Silver Whisk, JJ Watt’s personal Chef, Kobe Beef and more.   Sit down for a shoeshine, puff on a cigar, soak in the live music and enjoy the perfect guys night out. Wednesday June 5 at 5:30 p.m. it’s a Dirt-Y Talk and structured wine tasting with Oregon Wine Person of the Year, Rudy Marchesi of Montinore Estates at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center. 

Learn from Oregon’s beloved biodynamic mentor, Rudy Marchesi, whose vision of sustainability through a commitment to Biodynamic and organic farming, and sustainable winemaking earned him Wine Person of the Year.  Guests will also get a tasting profile done by Tim Hanni author of “Why You Like the Wines You Like.”  Tickets are $45 per person.

If informal strolling and sipping are more your speed, don’t miss the H-E-B Wine Walk, Thursday June 6 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. 

Market Street rolls out the red carpet for the H-E-B Wine Walk with savory bites, wine and craft beer and live music by Mango Punch in Market Street’s Central Park.The Ben E. Keith Craft Beer garden offers 14 craft brewery tasting tents for the most discriminating beer-loving palates. Features include the VIP Room, H-E-B Anchor areas, GOYA Food’s Chef Pantry and over 25+ food tasting stations. It’s the perfect way to kick off the weekend. Tickets start at $40.  A VIP tickets is also available with early entry and specialty wines.  VIP tickets are $75 per person.

Ladies of the Vine Tasting, Luncheon & Panel Discussion, presented by Celebrity Cruises is Friday, June 7 from 12 noon – 3 p.m. at The Club at Carlton Woods.

Taco day reigns supreme Friday June 7 from 6 – 9 p.m.  at Sips, Suds & Tacos. 

It’s a taco take-down where tacos of all shapes and sizes are served up with all the fixings and one taco takes all the glory and the quirky taco trophy.  Tickets are $30 per person.  Grab some friends and wind down the week with a fiesta! For wine enthusiasts there is a Truth Talk Seminar and tasting June 7 at 7 p.m. featuring the Wine Enthusiast Wine Maker of the Year, Michael David Winery. 

Meet Visionary Founder, Michael Phillips, Director of Wine Operations, Adam Mettler, and VP of Operations Kevin Phillips and taste why they won.   Tickets are $45.  At the Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center.

June 8 from 7 – 10 p.m. is the ultimate wine and food tasting.

The Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting & Chef Showcase features hundreds of wines and more than 60 major culinary talent from the U.S., Caribbean and Latin America all in one elegant ballroom vying for the title of GOYA Foods Chef of Chefs Awards with its coveted trophy and $5,000 cash prize. Chef of Chefs Hall of Fame lifetime achievement inductees and Houston icons Michael Cordúa, and Carmelo Mauro will return to see who takes the prize.  This is foodie heaven.  Tickets for the Grand Tasting are $125 per person.
