The Kosher Chili Cookoff is the largest kosher food event in Houston and celebrates the fellowship of the Jewish community with a day of food, live entertainment, contests, and family friendly activities while raising funds for non-profit organizations in the Houston Jewish Community.
State District Judge Mike Engelhart, a member of the Houston Kosher Chili Cookoff board of directors, said, “The 8th Annual Kosher Chili Cookoff is the largest Jewish-community wide event of its type in Houston and the generosity of our sponsors and their enthusiasm for our common goal of bringing our community together for fun and food with a little kick is amazing.”
The cookoff attracts more than 4,000 attendees annually for live entertainment, face painting, balloon artists, obstacle courses, inflatable cliff jumps, a moonwalk bouncer and more while tasting some of Houston’s best kosher chili.
Guests also have a chance to vote for their favorite chili recipes for the People’s Choice Award and enter the raffle to win great prizes. Winners of the kosher chili tasting contest will win coveted trophies and prizes presented by celebrity and media judges during the award ceremony at 3:30 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will benefit nonprofit organizations in the Houston Jewish community.
