Discovery Green Brings Back Thursday Night Concerts

Discovery Green, the 12-acre park in the heart of downtown Houston, continues its Spring 2018 season with the return of Thursday Night Concerts. This free concert series, presented by University of Houston-Downtown, is a family-friendly showcase of the some of the best music along the Gulf Coast.

“UHD is proud to once again partner with Discovery Green in showcasing some of the top artists from the great state of Texas,” said university President Dr. Juan Sánchez Muñoz. “This concert series has become a summer tradition in Houston. I look forward to memorable performances under the stars and the opportunity to extend our cultural reach beyond campus and into downtown Houston.”

The series, emceed by KPFT DJ Roark Smith, opened on May 17 with a performance by Houston hip-hop royalty Slim Thug with DJ Baby Roo.
