New attractions, new movies and more at Moody Gardens for Spring Break
Spring Break with sand, sun and fun are just what Moody Gardens has to offer this year complete with new technology, attractions and discounts for Houston area families looking for options close to home.
During the entire month of March, guests can save $5 per person on the purchase of a Day Pass online and receive access to all attractions with a wide variety of new options to choose from.
“More than 70 percent of our visitors come from Houston,” said Moody Gardens President and CEO John Zendt. “Moody Gardens offers a very diverse range of experiences for families that is convenient, memorable and affordable.”
This year Moody Gardens has introduced four new attractions with the Skeletown exhibit, National Parks Adventure 3D, Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3D and Ice Age: No Time for Nuts 4D. Skeletown, which focuses on bone biology, bone health, the roles bones play in different cultures, is being showcased in the Discovery Pyramid.
MG 3D Theater guests can enjoy a limited-time engagement of Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3D on the world’s first 4K 3D Giant Screen 6 Primary Laser Projection System, the optimal setting for the best viewing experience in the world. Across the hall at the 4D Special FX Theater, Ice Age: No Time for Nuts 4D, fully immerses viewers in an interactive theater experience that is 3D with the added effects of seat sensors, leg ticklers, scent and water mists that engage all of the senses.
“The 4D Special FX Theater is an experience the whole family really enjoys,” said Zendt, who added that this film should be particularly well suited for Moody Gardens guests. “The leg ticklers, mists of water and other special effects introduces an element of surprise that immediately brings on the laughter and smiles for all ages.
At the MG 3D Theatre, National Parks Adventure 3D has debuted just in time for the 100-year anniversary of the National Parks Service. Prepare to being whisked away on a thrilling adventure as viewers join Conrad Anker and company as they visit Yosemite, Yellowstone and various other national parks. Guests also have the opportunity to win their very own camping getaway during the month of March. Moody Gardens is offering a drawing to win a tent, camping gear and an annual national parks membership for a family of four.
