This year’s event features a special book signing on Dec. 8 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. with nationally-known New York City interior designer Charlotte Moss for her book Charlotte Moss Entertains and New Orleans-based entrepreneur Jane Scott Hodges for Linens: For Every Room and Occasion.

Over the years, thousands of volunteers have worked together to coordinate the oldest continual home tour in Houston.

In the early days, volunteers decorated the homes themselves, donating their own holiday decorations to the effort.  Today, local floral designers have taken over and use the most cutting edge designs and décor to transform the homes into holiday masterpieces.

The four homes are located at 10 Shadder Way and 3030 Inwood Dr. in River Oaks and 803 Briar Ridge Dr. and 639 Shady Hollow Dr. in Tanglewood. All of the homes are exquisitely decorated, and the book signing will occur at 3030 Inwood Dr.

“This year we celebrate 76 years of shared blessings at what promises to be the best Home Tour in our history,” says Pilgrimage Co-Chair Claudia Laswell.  “Contributions to the Kappa Kappa Gamma Charitable Foundation for the Holiday Pilgrimage Home Tour make it possible for us to provide funding for many worthwhile charitable organizations.”

One of the most important aspects of the event is that proceeds benefit charities that are working to impact the lives of children and adults in our community.

Since 1976, the Kappa Kappa Gamma Charitable Foundation has provided financial support to Houston’s nonprofit community, donating more than $3.6 million to many large and small charities. The organizations have utilized the funds for programs, facilities, equipment and staff as they have helped thousands of Houstonians in need.

Amber Gray, Pilgrimage Co-Chair noted, “Visitors to the homes will get a peek at the latest styles and décor for the 2018 holiday season, including two homes with interiors by Houston residential and commercial designer Kara Childress, head of Kara Childress Design. She is known for marrying Old World European with fresh compositions of modern and livable design for her clients.”

“We are also thrilled to have special guests Charlotte Moss and Jane Scott Hodges to sign books on Saturday afternoon at one of the River Oaks homes,” Gray said. “Both women are influencers and thought leaders in the design industry, and we are grateful they are sharing their time and energy with us.”

Tickets for the Home Tour are $20, and include admission to all four homes on the tour. These may be purchased in advance at Bering’s Hardware, Cornelius Nursery, Out of the Box, Back Row Antiques, The Paisley House and other local retailers, or on the day of the event at any of the Tour homes.
