Houston Astros’ George Springer to Host 4th Annual “All-Star Bowling Benefit” for Camp SAY on July 8

Annual benefit supports the George Springer Kids Fund

The Bowling Benefit, hosted by George Springer, a Houston Astros Outfielder, 2017 World Series Champion and MVP, is a fundraiser to send young people who stutter to Camp SAY.

The 4th Annual George Springer All-Star Bowling Benefit will be held Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 7-10 p.m. at Bowlmor Houston, located at 925 Bunker Hill Rd.

Guests will find an inspiring and memorable evening of bowling with Springer, fellow Astros, other professional athletes and celebrity lane captains.

All of the proceeds from the George Springer All-Star Bowling Benefit will help send children from all socio-economic backgrounds to the George Springer MVP Camp Say day camp in Houston and Camp SAY, a life-changing summer camp for kids and teens who stutter.

Benefit Tickets are priced at $300 – $500 with Sponsorship levels at $5,000 – $25,000. Program ads are $500 – $2,500.

In 2014, Springer became SAY’s national spokesperson and since then has inspired millions of people who stutter. Last year alone, SAY provided more than $1 million in financial aid and underwritten tuition support, so all children have access to its life-changing programs, including Camp SAY, a 2-week, ACA-accredited summer camp for kids & teens who stutter, ages 8-18. Camp SAY blends a traditional summer camp experience, with programs and activities that empower young people who stutter.

This camp also helps campers build confidence, communication skills and friendships to last a lifetime. Camp SAY is a program of SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that offers comprehensive and innovative programs that address the physical, social and emotional impacts of stuttering.

This Bowling Benefit begins with a cocktail reception, followed by bowling fun with fellow Astros and celebrity lane captains, with an open bar and dinner. The event will also feature sports-themed items, experiences, and memorabilia in a silent auction. All event and auction proceeds will send children and teens in need to both the National Camp SAY program, and George Springer’s MVP Camp SAY day camp in Houston.

Honorary Chair Dr. Carolyn Farb., h.c., Co-chairs, Lara Bell and Melissa DeAyala, along with Junior Chair, Matthew DeAyala and The Stuttering Association for the Young (SAY) invite guests to attend the benefit.
