MUDBUG EXTRAVAGANZA

LITTLE WOODROW’S MUDBUG MUNCH on SATURDAYS: Join Little Woodrow’s every Saturday of the season for our crawfish boil! Serving starts at 12 pm until they’re gone. Mudbugs will be available by the pound or all-you-can-eat!   Two locations are there to feed your need during our one of favorite times of the years. Hit up Little Woodrow’s EaDo at 2019 Walker St. or Little Woodrow’s Midtown at 2306 Brazos.

RAVEN TOWER’S BUG BRUNCH: Don’t miss this brunch every Saturday and Sunday through the end of crawfish season! Starting at noon and lasting until the mud bugs are gone, guests can take advantage of the following specials:

-All You Can Eat Crawfish ($30); Crawfish ($6.50/lb); Shrimp ($16.99/lb); Shrimp ($8.99/half lb)

-$2 Beer Specials; $3 Drink Specials; $4 Shot Specials

STATE OF GRACE:  Have a hankering for crawfish? State of Grace has you covered! Enjoy mud bugs in an elevated fashion with the restaurant’s delicious Crawfish Benedict (with cornbread and creole hollandaise), which is offered during Sunday brunch service from 10 AM – 3 PM. The Crawfish Hushpuppies are also a must-try!

RODEO ROUNDUP—GET YOUR GRUB (& DRINK) ON! 

Helen Greek Food and Wine: If you happen to be hitting the Rodeo on a Wednesday night, make sure to stop by Helen Greek Food and Wine on your way to get the evening started. The restaurant is taking its Greek wine program to the next level with Krasi at Helen, which takes place every Wednesday starting at 4 PM and lasts through dinner service. Local sommelier and oenophile Evan Turner is showing his customer appreciation by offering retail wine prices on all bottles (to be enjoyed at the restaurant). This special promotion will run through the Spring season.

Jerry Built Homegrown Burgers is launches The Outlaw — topped with all-natural pulled pork, batter-fried bacon, ghost pepper jack cheese, smoky barbecue sauce, lettuce, onions, pickles, and mayo on a freshly baked bun.

Hotel Derek: In honor of winning first place in the Trail Blazin’ Appetizer/Cheese/Bread Award category at this year’s Rodeo Uncorked! Best Bites Competition, Hotel Derek’s Revolve Kitchen + Bar has put its winning appetizer on the menu for the entire month of March. Enjoy three Achiote Braised Pork Sliders with jalapeño cabbage slaw and sriracha honey glaze for $12.

Kiran’s: In honor of Rodeo season, Kiran’s is offering a special Bison Chili during both lunch and dinner for the rest of the month. It’s served over saffron basmati rice and will include cheddar cheese and plantains. $18 for lunch / $22 for dinner.

B&B BUTCHERS: DR Delicacy and B&B Butchers have teamed up to create a rodeo inspired cocktail with some of DR Delicacy’s new edible gold products. Swing by to get a taste of The Gold, The Bad and The Ugly, which consists of Makers 4, Cynar, Bruto Americano and dashes of orange bitters with a glass rimmed with DR Delicacy’s 24K gold crumbs. Available till March 11.

Local Foods: If you’re looking for a happy hour spot before heading down to NRG Stadium for the Rodeo, stop by Local Foods’ newest location in downtown Houston, which sits right by one of the Metrorail stops. Every day from 4 PM – 7 PM, Local Foods offers happy hour drink specials, small plates and dinner plates. Highlights include $4 house wines, $6 specialty cocktails like the Mr. Pink & Lemon Basil Gimlet and small plates under $10 like the Snapper Ceviche, Edamame Spinach Dip & Jalapeño Hummus.

State of Grace:  Get in the Rodeo spirit with “The Mutton Buster” (a Houston Rodeo crowd favorite) from State of Grace. This smoky, aromatic cocktail with citrus notes is made with Sheep Dip Scotch, Drambuie and a black tea syrup. Egg white froth is put on top to resemble a sheep’s woolly fleece.

Raven Tower: If you’re heading to the Rodeo and want to grab a drink or two beforehand, stop by Raven Tower and then hop on the light rail to NRG! The bar is just a five-minute walk north of the Quitman St. Metro light rail stop on the Red Line (people can hop on either northbound or southbound). The following specials are being offered during Rodeo season:

-Beer : -Karbach “Rodeo Clown” DBL IPA – $5/pint; -Town in City “Uncommon Cowboy” California Common/Steam Beer – $4/pint6

-Cocktails: -Ranch Water (El Jimador Blanco Tequila, Lime, Sugar, Topo Chico – $5); -Irish Texan (Jameson Black Barrel, Sugar, Lemon, Mint – $6)
